How to Install Katara's Slack Agent

Step 01

Click Create an Agent

From the Agent Library in the Katara dashboard

Step 02

Select Slack Agent

Fill out a short application.

Step 03

Name Your Agent

(you can come back an update this later)

(Optional) You can add a tag to your agent, eg ‘sales’, marketing, finance, engineering, ‘customers’, internal,

Step 04

Install Katara Agent in Slack

1. For private channels you'll need to add the app to each private channel individually.

‘/invite @Katara’

2. Register the agent in a channel
Type the following command into a channel to register this agent:

‘/register zhKgPY2zdK’

3. Verify registration

Once you've registered this agent, click the button below to verify that registration was successful.

Step 05

Configure Your Channel

The agent will be enabled by default in the channel you register in.

To make changes:
Click the Pencil

Here is where you can enable or disable the bot

You can modify if you want the bot to:
- Always reply
- Reply when threshold it met
- Reply when prompted
- or Listen only

Select your Q&A agent, this is the knowledge base that your slack bot will reply from.

*YOU MUST HAVE A 1) Q&A AGENT AND A 2) DATA LOADER!! without a Q&A agent and data loader agent the Slack agent will not have what it needs to send replies
